Another slow-ish week in the knitting internet—or at least from what I’m seeing! If you have a news item to share or something I missed, please let me know.
The biggest story of the last couple of weeks has been this: under Karl Lagerfeld’s creative direction, Chanel has copied elements of hand-knitted Fair Isle sweaters by Mati Ventrillon without appropriate credit The good news is that they owned their mistake and seem to be working with Mati to correctly credit the designs. In related news, start brushing up your colorwork skills, if the F/W 2016 shows are any indication.
Here’s a lovely story about a nurse who makes wigs out of yarn for little girls with cancer.
These have been around for a while but always worth sharing: Ryan Gosling + yarn memes.
Whip up some quick, cute little hat ornaments and bust your stash!
Into needle felting? Here’s some sweet needle felted Christmas trees.
And finally, here’s an interesting story: a professor and grad student in Boston hypothesize that Charles Dickens may have borrowed much of A Christmas Carol from stories told by Lowell mill girls.
