I’m doing something a little different this time and playing with a slideshow! Because there’s a lot of photos that I love of this sweater and this way this post is not too obnoxious.
This is Daqin from a recent Berroco booklet, using their Cosma yarn. This yarn is amazing—alpaca, merino, and silk in a sport-weight yarn with great colors. I used Plum Blossom, though the booklet sample is knit in a beautiful blue color I almost chose instead.
This is the first time I’ve knit a project side to side and that was really interesting! The first sleeve zoomed along; the body draaaaaaaged on; and then finishing was speedy too. The lace is easily memorable.
I love how versatile this is. The first time I wore it, I layered it over a gray long sleeve tee, with a black skirt for work. Here, I threw it on over a tank top (which did a shit job of covering my bra strap, obviously) and some jeans and probably would have finished it with a pair of brown ankle boots. It’s both dressy and relaxed and I really like that.
Have you knit a side-to-side sweater? What did you think?
Congratulations on the Berroco feature! Daqin is gorgeous, and Amy is right about how perfectly the color choice suits you.
