Okay, in an attempt to actually blog about things, I’m starting a new column—Super Six! Six things I’m looking forward to in a given month. Some of them will be crafting related, some of them will just be random things that excite me, but all of them will be super, that’s for sure.
Technically, I’ve already got this in my hands, but I haven’t had time to really dive into it, so I’m still stoked about it and looking forward to it. The artwork on the DVDs is amazing, and there’s a bunch of other files in there I have to go through, and I think I need to look for batteries so I can have my Tesseract light up all the time.
And now I’m thinking I should knit a Tesseract cozy. It’s a plastic cube.
2. Wingspan
It just so happened that one of the skeins of Kauni I bought last week was intended to be a Wingspan, right around the time that there was an internet kerfluffle around this pattern. In the interest of keeping this blog as kerfluffle-free as possible, I will suggest you use the Google to discover what I mean if you don’t already know. I’m using the pink and black Kauni, and I’m two repeats in, and I love the way the colors are working up. I can see why this is an addictive pattern, but the initial short-rows for each section are so long that I kind of get bored in the middle of them, and then I get to the end rows and they go so fast and it’s all whee! and then we start over again with the long rows. This is a rollercoaster of a knit, I tell you.
My book club is reading this selection of short stories for this month, and I’m super excited. I love the title story from this collection—it’s beautifully written and really kind of creepy—so I’m anxious to get into the rest of the book… you know, if I started it.
What, we’re not meeting until May 1! That’s so much time.
4. Sandal weather!
My one and only pair of comfy sandals, prior to purchasing the above shoes from Shoedazzle.com, were super comfy and bright orange. Not exactly “goes with everything.” So hopefully these new sandals will be comfy and I can wear them with everything, now that the weather is starting to get into the 60s and 70s.
5. Out of town friends.
This weekend and next weekend, I’ll have visitors for a time—visitors from out of town! My friend Anna is grabbing lunch with a few of us tomorrow, and none of us have met in person before, so that will be fun. And then next weekend, my friend Ashley will be staying with me for a dayish. I love opportunities to visit with people I don’t get to see frequently.
I fell in love with this scarf when I first saw it and have dreamed of it ever since. I decided one of the skeins of Wollmeise I bought at Loopy Ewe last week would be the perfect contrast color to another skein of WM I had—I’m combining my Neptun with the Olio Vergine and I think it will be a winner.
You know, whenever I get around to knitting it.
So that’s what I’m excited about this month! Hopefully future installments will happen a few days earlier, but eh, what are you going to do? What are you looking forward to this month?
The Null Hypothesis Scarf is cool looking.
I’m looking forward to sandal weather as well. I’ve purchased a new pair of sandals I’m looking forward to wearing.
