Month in Review: January 2013

So January. What’s up with that?

This month has been a serious roller coaster. Launched the new blog site, started taking violin lessons, got sucked into a world of LEGOs, am currently embroiled (not directly, and not necessarily in a bad way) a curious amount of upheaval at work somewhat suddenly, and through it all, I just kept knitting.

New life motto: “Expect the worst, hope for the best, bring knitting.”

I finally finished my Calavera Catrina hat, and whipped up Amy Christoffers’ Lilac Wine cowl in a handful of days.

I also finished my Iðunn pullover, but there’s not yet a post about it—look for it either on Saturday, or if I decide to post about my Raindance progress, sometime next week!

February is likely to be just as tumultuous, but hopefully just as productive as well. We’ve got the Puff Stitch Scarf Crochetalong starting tomorrow and I have some other goals for the month! Just have to keep on knitting.

I did add a bit to my stash this month; the first picture shows a skein of Roman Hills Gruber in the Little Box of Eggs colorway, which was gifted to me by my friend Kelly in a swap, and the second shows two skeins of Wollmeise DK, which I did buy BUT used a credit I had at The Loopy Ewe for part of and I purchased it with the express intent of making a Stockholm Scarf, which has been in my queue for years now. (Forgive the terrible photos taken early this morning at the last minute.)

So while I did add a bit to my stash, I also churned out quite a bit of yardage, both in terms of knitting and destashing. Yay for that!

How did January treat you? What are your goals for February?
