Another overdue post! This is what happens when I can’t manage to photograph anything in a timely manner. They all get backed up together.
This is also what happens when you’re not paying attention to the number of stitches you cast on. Because the tubular cast on is a bit tricky to count and keep track, I ended up with twice the number of stitches necessary for Amy Christoffers’ Lilac Wine cowl.
So it’s really long! And really loopy! But I really love it!
The 1×1 ribbing was the perfect mindless knitting on the go project. I had all the stitches on a short-ish circular and it fit in my purse for the most part and I was able to pull out this project and work on it fairly monogamously (in addition to my Iðunn sweater, which you’ll also see quite soon).
Because it’s so long, my cowl is not as deep as it looks in Amy’s photos, but it loops comfortably around my neck three times, and the Madelinetosh Pashmina is so delightfully squishy and warm.
This is a free pattern, so if you’re looking for a good mindless travelling project, I can’t recommend Lilac Wine enough!
I just finished mine, too. I did adhere to the stitch count, but I went with different cast on and bind off lol. Still need to block it, but I loved knitting it
