I still haven’t finished blogging about I∂unn yet—hopefully there will be pictures taken today, of some sort—but I’ve already cast on for my next sweater. This month, the Sweater Odyssey group is knitting along to designs from Heidi Kirrmaier. I’m knitting Raindance using some of the Quince and Co Chickadee from my failed sweater dress attempt.
There’s really not too much to see, but here it is, about halfway through the front.
One of the things that drew me to this pattern is the construction. It’s designed in a way that it can be pretty much completely seamless, but it’s not a raglan or circular yoke. The body is knit side to side, and then the yoke is picked up and the sleeves are knit at the same time. It’s pretty clever in theory, it may make me scream when I finally get to it, but for now I’ve got about 40 more rows of the front to knit before I start working the right-side shaping, and then there’s the whole back to go.
I’m on a little adventure this weekend, with at least six hours in a car (combined travel time, not each way) so I’m hoping I can get a good chunk done on this body and keep it moving!
What are you knitting this weekend?
I may have taken your advice and finally started my Roam tunic…maybe!
Raindance looks like a really cute top. I look forward to seeing how you get on with it.
I’ve been working my way through Grace by Jane Richmond. It’s my first fingering weight sweater, but I don’t think it will be my last.
