What kind of idiot leaves the house before 8 AM when it’s about 20ยฐ outside to take photos of knitwear? Masochists, that’s who. The thought process was “The light will be awesome and the high for tomorrow is supposed to be about 20ยฐ, so it will actually be warmer if I do this today.” And I was right. But don’t look too closely at my hands in these photos, or you’ll see how they’re BRIGHT PINK from being frozen.
(Not to fear, all of my digits are safe and sound now.)
I’ve talked about this cardigan a lot. If you want to see more about the process, click the “stonecutter’s cardigan” tag. This post is mostly going to be pretty pictures. At least, I think they’re pretty, and I’m in them. (Also, forgive the blurriness, as I was a one-woman show this morning and didn’t always manage to get my camera to focus, but in some of them I really like the way it turned out.)
Stay warm, my friends.
Ah! So beautiful!
Thanks!!
Lovely, very flattering. Looks great with the jeans and boots!
Thank you!
Lordy I hear ya- I dragged my husband/photographer out into icy drizzle the other day because the light was just so perfect and misty, darnit! He had to hold up his ridiculous little dinosaur umbrella over the camera the whole time while I sank slowly into a field of mud. But the photos came out, and that’s all that matters.
These look gorgeous- like a crisp fall morning (which I guess it almost was…just a little too far on the winter side, hehe.) And the sweater is beautiful! That color suits you ๐
That’s awesome of your husband! I have a friend here who would be able to help, but he’s like, busy and stuff with his own family. So I feel bad asking him. Especially since I’m all “photoshoot at 8 am, that sounds fun right?!”
We’ve had a pretty mild winter here so far, but I always forget that it’s way colder in the mornings than the predicted high. I don’t know WHY I forget that, but yeah. And thank you!! I do love this color a whole lot, and this yarn is sooooo soft.
Great cardigan…and great pictures:) Thinking of knitting this too, and Iยดm inspired by the color of your jacket!
You should definitely knit it! It’s really fun to knit, the pattern keeps you interested, and it’s so cozy.
Lovely! Pictures and sweater! What lens did you use? I have a nifty fifty on my Christmas list!
I was using my 24 for this. I brought the 50 and had plans to use it, but I had enough trouble just getting these, since I forgot the tripod foot and my remote, so I just said eh. ๐
Great sweater and great photos! The sweater seems meant for a trek in the woods.
Thank you! It’s quite nice for tromping through underbrush. ๐
It’s beautiful! And the light was fantastic.
I know! Great light is worth waking up early.
Absolutely fabulous! Everything about it is perfect: color, cut, fit! Awesome!,
Thank you!
I’m glad you took those photos when you did because the lighting is gorgeous. The cardigan is absolutely to die for. I really really really need to cast on. Like right now.
I know, it was worth the near hypothermia! ๐ And yes. Cast on. Now.
