I’m dragging today, folks. Hit the snooze button for over an hour, almost crawled back into bed after I was dressed, still feeling fuzzy into the afternoon kind of dragging. Slept poorly last night, pummeled by wind and grit yesterday… I don’t know if I’m feeling the effects of the seasonal transition or if it’s a cold trying to bring me down.
But I was reminded today by the fabulous Ashley and Jen on Twitter that the Hunger Games movie opens this weekend, that’s super exciting.
I fell in love with the Hunger Games series when I read it, and I’m optimistic about the movie adaptation of this first book, which is a big deal, because when I first heard they were making a film, I was incredibly skeptical. But the trailer looks and feels spot on, so now I’m excited for the film. A group of my knitting friends are planning to go later this weekend—are you planning to see it this weekend?
In the meantime, my pals Sarah, Jennifer, and Torii of Apothecary Yarns are releasing a series of Hunger Games-inspired colorways on their lovely yarns today. Take a gander at these beauties. If you, like me, are trying to not buy yarn for whatever reason, take heart—Sarah confirmed that these are not limited edition colorways and could be custom ordered in the future. My potential yarn buying plans now include a skein of The Capitol and Panem (and maybe Trinket, Trident, and Buttercup, shhh!).
Hope your week is off to a more energetic start!
Oooh I’m supposed to go see it very soon! I can’t wait. I read the books like 2 years ago I think but I loooved them. I remember finishing the first two and going straight to wal-mart just to see if they MIGHT have the third. They did and I was way too happy about it. I just watched the trailer and it gave me goosebumps haha. Now I’m REALLY excited.
I’m trying reallllly hard not to look at the yarn…must.resist.temptation.
Thankfully a friend was able to loan me her complete set of books, so I was able to go on a tear and read them all in one go.
If it helps, the yarn is mostly sold now, but still available for custom orders, which is what I’m going to have to do when I am allowed to buy yarn again.
