It’s been a little while, hasn’t it? Apparently, when I get sick, I don’t want to post and it’s a struggle to even knit. And then when I do knit, I can’t do knitting math in my feverish head, so I’m kind of cranky with a certain project that I can’t show you at the moment–just know it’s on my naughty list (even though the problem was entirely user error and not the fault of the knitting itself). But it’s done and I can move onto the enormous list of other knitting.
With almost 2 months left before the Holiday Season (sorry to remind you if you’d worked very hard to put it out of your mind), most people who have better time management skills than I have probably already started working on their gift knitting. For the rest of us, there’s no time like the present to start thinking about knitting for gifts. Every year around this time, Interweave puts out it’s Holiday issue, which in the past has had an impressive volume of small, quick-to-knit projects mixed in with the more advanced and longer patterns (what I like to refer to as “Someday Projects” as in, “I’ll get around to it someday”).
This year is no exception. There are some lovely, fast projects in the issue’s preview:
There are also some projects that seem worthy of becoming Someday Projects:
And some familiar favorites are also present:
(Seriously, I’ve been wanting to knit those First Time Tube Socks by Ann Budd for a while so I’m happy to see them reappear.)
Are you planning on knitting for any loved ones this year? Are you as much a slacker as I am? Please say yes!
