Soon, very, very soon, I will be posting about the Wedding Shawl. But first, I’m going to show off my new yarns.
This skein and the next two yarns in the photos are payment yarn for a project I worked on a little while ago. That beauty up there is Fleece Artist’s Merino 2/6 Sock yarn, and I can’t remember the exact name for the colorway.
Two skeins of Louet Gems Fingering weight in Cranberry, I believe. I’m trying to make myself obtain more solid colored sock yarn for some of the really complicated (in terms of detailing) patterns that I’ve been eying.
And the last of my payment, Hazel Knits Artisan Sock in Bobbin’s Nest.
Now this is souvenir yarn, Sheep Shop Yarn’s Sheep Feet in “Royalty.” I picked this up at Woolen Treasures in Loveland, Colorado. This super cute little house of a yarn store is right down the street from the Interweave Press offices (which yes, as a nerdy knitter, I went by), and across the street from the Loveland public library. I wonder if they’ll let me move in. Yarn + Interweave + books? Yes, please.
This is Fiesta Baby Boom sock yarn in Malibu. I’m a little worried about this yarn. It’s listed as a sport weight, and since a sport weight is theoretically heavier than a fingering weight, I should, in theory, be able to knit a pair of socks from this skein. However, it feels like a fingering weight, and since my tension is apparently on the loose side, knitting this yarn on “sport weight” needles (meaning a US 2 or 3) is likely to be very loose and holey. I may end up having to buy another skein. Mrah.
Ack, I forgot to add the following: I picked up this yarn in Estes Park at The Stitchin’ Den. I could also move here. Yarn + mountains? Yes, that will work for me too. Plus, they have cute mascots!
Finally, some KnitPicks Imagination Hand Painted sock yarn in The Pirate King. Please note, same dye lot, drastic differences in color saturation. Doesn’t matter, I love them anyway.
Now, if only I could figure out what I will be knitting with these new yarns.
