People can be incredibly awesome. I am quite frequently blown away by how awesome people can be.
Take Preita for example. She recently celebrated her blogiversary, and in a truly Hobbit-like fashion decided to have a giveaway contest to celebrate. My number was drawn, which was a welcome change, as I’m usually not one of those people who win things. But this time I did, and that alone was super exciting.
When Preita said she was going to give away prizes, I figured it’d be something small. Instead, I was treated with the following.
Two skeins of Knit Picks Gloss in the Parsley colorway. I’ve never used Gloss, so I’m excited to get to play with new yarn. Yay new yarn!
Bright pink Malabrigo chunky! Yay Malabrigo!
Two skeins of Frog Tree sportweight alpaca! Yay alpaca!
And Criosa put a “Learn to Dropspin” kit together for me when I first mentioned wanting to learn. Included in the kit was a dropspindle and multiple kinds of roving to practice with.
Look I’m making yarn! Sort of. Since taking that picture, I’ve spun up another ply and worked them together, so now it’s hanging out on the niddy-noddy I borrowed from Jen and will hopefully end up being usable yarn.
Thank you so much, Preita and Christy! I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Ooooh, I LOVE Gloss. And Malabrigo. And that roving looks beautiful! *is happy for you but jealous* π
The roving is so pretty, I couldn’t believe Christy sent it to me. And there was quite a bit of it too! and I’m always excited about sock yarn and malabrigo. π
Look at your fat yarn! It’s so pretty! π
Glad you liked the package π I’m really a fan of gloss, it makes really warm light weight mittens/ socks/ gloves/ scarves π
I loved the package! I was so surprised to pull it out of the mailbox–I wasn’t expecting so much! Thanks again! π
ooo! I have two hanks of the Parsley too! I bought them to go with my skein of “Forks” π
They’re a nice shade of green, I have to figure out what sock pattern to make with them!
